when I’m tired or after a couple (read: 2) drinks, or when both are together. That being said, I’m so sorry that you were treated how you were. I remember hating my eye patch, but they gave me stickers to add to it, and my best friend at 2-5 yo was kind and understanding and never made fun of it as children can do. We also both had awful speech impediments, to the point where our parents had trouble understanding us, but we knew exactly what the other one was saying all the time. I’ve had coworkers ask about it (I was traveling to Europe so very jetlagged and therefore, my eye was off doing its own thing, whereas I can often semi pass when completely rested), which was a bit mortifying, but also I know the person was just curious. It’s something I’m very self conscious about, but it didn’t leave me scarred because growing up, people really didn’t tease me about it, and I still had friends. I was never attracting a ton of male attention either, only dated a couple guys before settling down, but I was never made to feel it was because of my eye. I just wanted to leave this here and say others do understand, and I’m so sorry you were treated that way, because it doesn’t have to be that way.
